A “Pressure cooker” and “intensely” stressful were the words used by newly arrived star Susan Boyle in a description of her experience during Britain’s Got Talent finals last May.

The woman who reached fame in an instant with the song “I’ve Got a Dream” told the media in the UK that she had felt absolutely and utterly ill-prepared for the incredible level of attention by British reporters she received regarding her performances on the talent show. At the end, she said, she was completely exhausted.

Everybody wanted a piece of her, Boyle revealed, although it is not surprising for anyone living in the UK that as hoards of paparazzi literally stalked her day and night. Britain is absolutely crazy about anyone somewhat famous. Boyle had become the new media darling; the world was witnessing someone ‘normal’ would was, against all odds, making it in a business so often branded as cynical and crual.

Boyle further explained that it got out control as she wasn’t able to walk down the street in peace. Those days were over. Even American TV reporters were camped at her house.

Susan admitted that the intrusion on the part of the media made her life a living hell.

The Scottish singing sensation, who was living alone at that time, revealed a period in her life when she felt frightened and extremely vulnerable. Her phone drove her mad, as it rang 24 hours a day non stop, so much so that she finally changed her number. Reporters didn’t stop for 3 weeks.

She said her vision, her appetite and her sleep had all been affected by the immense pressure. The world was watching, and she knew it. She said her experience at the finals was like a dream that ended. She felt so exhausted after the show that she found her self at the clinic without knowing how she got there.

And after having endured public humiliation, a cynical industry and relentless reporters, Boyle pulled through on the other side.

Meanwhile, Sharron Osbourne has relied on Twitter to publicly apologies to Boyle for saying the singer had been hit with an ugly stick. Osbourne said that the star is a lovely woman and that she (Osbourne) had taken advantage of that.
