School camping trip ends in tragedy in NSW
Tragedy struck a teenage couple out on a quiet and innocent camping trip.
Two young people both died after being accidentally run over by a vehicle while they out during a school reunion and were sleeping in their swags, police said.
New South Wales Police said the incident happened in a camp site in the country side near the town of Orange Tuesday morning.
A young teenage girl died in Orange Base Hospital early yesterday morning. Her nineteen-year-old male companion also died in Orange Base Hospital but at mid-day yesterday. Both teens had suffered massive injuries due to the crushing weight of the utility vehicle.
The couple had been out on a school organized camping outing in the company of a group of some 30 teenagers at Molong on a rural property in New South Wales approximately 20 kilometres from Orange.
At about 5AM Tuesday morning, the pair was fast asleep in their swags when a 17-year-old male and fellow student accidently ran over them with utility vehicle.
Both aged nineteen, the boy and girl suffered critical injuries and were immediately taken to the local hospital in Orange.
The teenage driver has given assistance to police authorities with the investigation and was subsequently released until further inquiries.
