Missing Melbourne millionaire Herman Rockefeller found murdered.

A couple has been charged with the brutal murder of millionaire businessman Herman Rockefeller who had been missing for several days.

Police had carried out an extensive search near Heathcote which had failed to produce any results.

In police custody are a 57-year-old Mario Schembri of Wallan as well as a 41-year-old Bernadette Denny of Hadfield. They’ve are now facing charges of carrying out Mr Rockefeller’s murder. The two faced judges at a special hearing at the St Kilda Road police complex yesterday night.

The court was informed that both Schembri and Denny had admitted to have partaken in a physical altercation which is rumoured to have lead to the death of Mr Rockefeller. They’ve also admitted to have disposed of his body.

According to comments made by homicide squad detective senior constable Tim Bell, the two suspects were apprehended at 4.30 pm on Thursday. Bell said that one of the accused brought police investigators to a residence in Glenroy where what was believed to be human remains were found.

Mr Rockefeller went missing on January 21, after he had driven his car out from the long-term parking at Melbourne International Airport.

He is reported to have left Melbourne Airport after a Newcastle business trip and was reported to have intended to drive back home in East Malvern.

It is alleged that the millionaire was killed at a Hadfield home late on January 21 or early the following morning.

Police are still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding Mr Rockefeller’s murder. It’s been rumoured that he led a complex double life.
