What airlines think you don’t know
From nasty drinking water and food that’s paid a visit to the floor to scary bomb threats and faulty old planes, here’s the top dirt the airlines wish we didn’t know:
Here a quick compilation of the ailine industry’s worst kept secrets as described by two flight attendants, one employed with a major US airline and the other, based in Sydney.
1. Food may fall on the floor and staff still serves it. They do this in restaurants, why wouldn’t they do it on planes?
2. Plane tap water may make people sick. The onboard water tanks are practically never changed or cleaned. Flight attendant won’t even use it to brush their teeth.
3. Toilets on board planes are only cleaned correctly once a day. What do you expect, the planes are up there most of the time.
4. Luggage scales in airports often lie because they are not zeroed properly. It’s recommended to check before putting luggage on them.
5. Passengers may be asked to switch airlines at the last minute. It happens. So what?
6. The seat booked by a passenger may not be the one he or she end up with. Oh well.
7. Passengers are rarely informed of a technical problem with an aircraft or of an emergency situation. Thank God we’re not informed. You’re the pros… You figure it out.
8. Planes are not as new as people may think. We already know that. We have eyes and can see.
9. Airline crew are often exhausted. So are we.
10. The airplane may run out of food. That’s too bad.
11. Passengers may end up being very cold if they are not prepared. Most of us know that plane are f****** freezing.
12 Airplane cabin air may make you ill. It’s better to bring lotion since the air is super dry.
