Winehouse in trouble over theatre attack
British performer Amy Winehouse is scheduled for a court appearance next month over an alleged attack on a Buckinghamshire theatre manager last weekend.
The star voluntarily presented herself in the company of her lawyer at Milton Keynes police station where she was subsequently charged with a count of common assault.
The twenty-six-year-old singer is reported to have violently assaulted Milton Keynes Theatre manager Richard Pound. It’s been reported by local media that he allegedly suffered some minor injuries when the performer pulled his hair out and punched and kicked him in the groin.
The incident apparently started when a very boisterous Winehouse started to shout obscenities to the cast of Cinderella, which included well known actors such as Anthea Turner, Mickey Rooney and Bobby Davro.
Milton Keynes Theatre chief executive Elizabeth Adlington said the Winehouse was asked to leave the venue following her violent demonstration.
Winehouse appears to be falling back into her old routine. The performer is known to have had major drug and alcohol problems as well as a penchant for self destructive behaviour. The performer unwillingly manages to make media headlines with various issues in her personal life.
A lot of ink has been laid in the recent past over her involvement with former husband and ex-former convict Blake Fielder-Civil. The pair had divorced over allegations of adultery which were never contested by the performer, who at the time was involved with another man. Winehouse has appeared to be incapable to detach herself from her former husband. She was once quoted as saying that Fielder-Civil was the male version of her.
Fielder-Civil, a grammar school drop-out and former studio assistant, admitted to have introduced the star to crack cocaine and heroine.
Wine is also known to some mental health issues. She once admitted to being struggling with self-mutilation, depression and eating disorders.
